How much does it rain in Jerusalem typically? Is it seasonal? Here in Portland, OR, it rains an ave of 40" a year, most of that between October-March. We seldom get snow and when we do, it never lasts long. Is Jerusalem similar?
Here in Israel, rain is seasonal, falling only during the winter (i.e. between Sukkot and Pesach). I don't know how much falls annually, but I'm pretty sure than we get a lot less than Portland.
