MK Uri Ariel (National Union) has given Prime Minister Binyamin Netenyahu a letter signed by 109 MKs calling on U.S. President Barak Obama to grant a pardon to Jonathan Pollard. The number of MKs who signed the letter means that MKs from all the Jewish parties signed on and only the Arab MKs refused.More information on the Pollard case can be found here.
Pollard will soon mark his 25th year in American prison. Recently several former senior U.S. defense officials have said Pollard's sentence was extreme and unfair and have called for his release. Prime Minister Binyamin Netenyahu is to visit the U.S. Sunday.
