Not National, Not Religious

18 Tishrei, 5769 (3rd day of Chol HaMoed Sukkot)

A pretty disgusting ad in BeSheva from the "National Leumi Staff for Nir Barkat". It is a bad example of mudslinging against Meir Porush. If the people who created this ad call themselves "National Religious, I wonder: What nation do they belong to and what religion do they practice?

The answer is that they are Maimadniqim probably.

There are some mamlachtim too who may support Bareqet.

There is a mahloqeth: Some say mamlachtiyuth is avodah zarah; some say it's fascism.

Take your pick.

BY,

The problem here is the content of the advertisement, which is all insinuation without any facts. I am surprised that anyone who learned Torah could publish such trash.

P.S.

I am amazed at how you connected your loathing of "mamlachtiyuth" to this post.

We used to live in Bayit V'Gan, until moving to Shiloh in 1981. There was terrible anti-dati leumi stuff by the chareidim. If we were able to vote in Jerusalem elections, I could never (don't say never, but close to never)
vote for a chareidi candidate or party.
I'm talking first person, not rumors.

MCX,

The first part of your answer: agreed.

"Feelings" have been entering halachic discussions amongst the left wing of the Nat'l Religious for years. They got the idea from the M/O's. In actuality, feelings don't have much place in such discussions. That's the probably. Don't worry, I won't name the yeshivas responsible. I will say that it's surprising that they bother to go out of their way to separate themselves from non frum groups of Jews. When it comes down to it, there's not a whole lot of difference.

Regarding your P. S., ask an open question, and you "open" yourself up to all kinds of possibilities.
